Early morning for all-state trip to Council Bluffs, cold start, time in Vermillion touching up paint from move, back to Sioux City to a sanitized house, dinner at home then play practice, senior pictures ready.

Deep red sunrise against inky darkness, no work on house for a week, needed a larger space heater to stay at house, remembering Sunday choir concert, first home-cooked meal at Dunes house . . . steak on the grill, corn on the cob, last of summer's tomatoes.

A windy but great day for homecoming, Shade and Taylor did great in the parade, a first of lasts . . . last homecoming parade and marching band show. Had Pizza Hut deliver to the Dunes house for the first time since May. Delivery guy wondered if we were moving out!
